We're watching an actual coup in progress. This is the dismantling of the US, bit by bit, right before our very eyes.

Arguably, someone owes Putin more than money. The entire U.S. dismantled.

Every action to date is consistent with that hypothesis.

The complacency is staggering, though part of the strategy seems to be provocation of a grand crisis, each mini-crisis of increasing force and unconstitutionality. So a tipping point (of the "2 by 4 upside the head" variety) may be coming soon.

It may take a "Stanislav Petrov moment" to prevent complete destruction. Again, the complacency is staggering, given a live (second) coup attempt.

I always wonder what kind of person flags the kind of comment you made upthread. Even HN is not immune to such complacency.

I still don't understand all the in's and out's of HN, such as flagging. I wear the downvotes as a badge of honor for calling out hypocrisy.

If you read reference [1] in the flagged post, it explains the ultra libertarian mindset of "privileged" valley folks. Whether that's skin color, rich parents, education, birthplace, gender or whatever, "privilege" or the fear of losing it, is a main factor in the fascist and elitist coup going on now.

As always, every accusation is a confession. The privileged accuse those who were and are held back, of privilege. Daily false accusations by Big Brother of fraud and turpitude are confessions.

I fear that it will get a lot worse before it will get better and I actually have absolutely no idea anymore how much worse. I used to think I was a pessimist, now I realize I was a boundless optimist.
