Unrealistic maybe not capture the subtleties situation. Iran specifically planned for decades to make it impossible.

The question is: do you think you know something that the architects of that strategy didn’t? Keep on mind that everyone’s military capabilities are largely public.

Then ask yourself: if you had two decades to prepare to resist a military campaign to reopen the strait of Hormuz what might you do? You can assume that the first dozen things you can think of are in place. This is the Charley Munger invert, solve, invert approach. Don’t ask how would I reopen. Ask “how would I plan to close it”. Stack rank that list. Now invert and solve (or recognize that a solution might be more costly than the price you’re willing to pay in lives, time, material).

How so? What have you found unusable or broken compared to normal Android?

How do you install apps? There’s no App Store. There’s no consensus about how to safely install apps. Install play store? Leaks your login info to Google. Install a clone? Leaks it to China. Install one that doesn’t? Now you lack the security signing of the play store. Install the apps directly? Apps are untrusted.

I think they are trying to fix this with Accrescent. I've always heard to use Droid-ify for open-source apps, and Aurora for apps that are only in the Play Store (it uses its own Google accounts as a proxy).

The solution to too much money is always the same. Risk it all on the next “most important thing you can think of” In this case they probably need to remediate the very thing they made all their money from.

If done right this will succeed and put them back in the same boat ten years later (after that might I recommend inequality?) Rinse and repeat till you fail or die.
