Not really, they just treat it the intersection as if it were ruled by stop signs. It’s not always easy to keep track of who goes next but overall people can handle themselves pretty well in those cases.
So many freaking apps do this crap, Apple needs to implement a categorization system for notifications and allows users to choose which categories of notifications to allow. Anything other than essential notifications needs to go in the useless crap category.
Except the five eras in the article are based scientific observations of how the brain changes overtime where’s yours are based on having a snide attitude.
If they don’t even have the refining infrastructure built yet what do they have to offer the US ( or any other nation) that we can’t get from China? Rare Earth isn’t actually rare, what’s rare is the ability to refine it into pure elements.
I think the chat interface plays a huge role in this because LLMs are more than good enough to make you feel
like you’re talking to another person, so coupling that with a user interface that was up until a few years ago pretty much exclusively used to talk to other people is a little problematic… it is essentially hijacking the emotional response of talking to a real person through texting.
Shopping on Amazon is a nightmare because it’s filled with Chinese crap and untrustworthy reviews, I almost always have to put several search filters just to see semi-reputable brands.
