In the OP's case, there is no motivation for the LLM to perform a Search.

In the case you are asking in good faith, a) X requires logging in to view most of its content, which means that much of your audience will not see the news because b) much of your audience is not on X, either due to not having social media or have stopped using X due to its degradation to put it generally.

I set reasoning to Medium after hitting these issues and it did not make much of a difference. Most of the context window is still filled during the Explore tool phase (that supposedly uses Haiku swarms) which wouldn't be impacted by Opus reasoning.

There were more than a few iterations of GPT-3 over a few years which were actually overmoderated, then they released a research preview named ChatGPT (that was barely functional compared to modern standards) that got traction outside the tech community because it was free, and so the pivot ensued.
