but open source generally isnt treated as a product. its just a bunch of volunteers having fun writing code. its natural that they will include their other interests in it in some way because it makes working on a project more fun. first impressions matter a lot, but i dont think foss projects should optimize for that instead of having fun.

i dont think i have ever had to dig through more than a page unless i was searching for something REALLY NICHE.

google works really well for me for search. now, their image search is useless for me however. yandex is much better

This is a bit of an overgeneralization, it's possible to be pro deregulation in certain markets while at the same time supporting regulation on proper disposal of toxic industrial waste.

i was under the impression its a security measure against people brute forcing, kinda like when you try to unlock an iphone with a pin and fail it increases the time before your next attempt exponentially.

imo rust debug builds are fast enough, but its nice to see things are going to get even faster! hopefully this will eventually make `rust-analyzer` faster and more efficient.
