I hope OP is still reading comments. I noticed that the project was written in Xcode (the repo even has the xcodeproj folder) but in some screenshots I see CLion. Did you switch at some point or were you using both throughout the development simultaneously?

Amazing writeup, love this types of blog posts and hope the hawaii trip was enjoyable

I started with CLion, and found the UX to be completely foreign (not at all Mac-like) and overall frustrating to use.

Xcode is definitely not perfect, but it's IDE I'm most used to, so I ended up doing my most of my editing in it.

because of the mix of boredom, very shoddy internet that drops constantly and ANC earbuds removing distractions, I often find myself getting in the zone while riding the train back home from the office. As the kids say, I lock in

if anyone else suddenly started wondering, PC magazines still exist in physical form. There are even still Linux magazines that come with installer CDs for distros. And all kinds of other magazines as well, like for Mac computers, for photo editors, for Raspberry Pi etc.

I am curious to see how being namedropped by NASA affects the sales of these cameras. It's probably not as much as I am imagining but still not an insignificant number. Probably less than Nutella that accidentally flew off the shelf live on stream straight across the shot

If you stare at the picture, there's an illusion of the shadow growing and enveloping the moon further. At least for me. Quite neat. Might be something about the eyes focusing on the dark part of the photo?

Gorgeous, awe-inspiring photos.

Tangentially, did the NASA website move to WordPress? I thought it was Drupal, the Drupal official website even had a case study about nasa.gov. I see wp-content links on the site and there is no Drupal behaviors in JavaScript and I didn't notice any of the usual drupal classes in the source

NASA migrated thousands(!) of their sites to WordPress back in 2023. I think it had to do with user-friendliness of the Gutenberg editor.

thanks for clearing this up. a bit sad as someone who started out as a Drupal dev. It was hellish as a junior but the overall ecosystem is so expandable and the community is great. At least the Tesla website is still Drupal heh

I think VS Code supports running a local model in Copilot but I am not sure if you still need to pay the subscription if you are going to use it with a local model. But I definitely remember using copilot with devstral than the latter came out a year or so ago

Maybe I am living under the rock but I never seen a .press TLD before

new TLDs are no longer newsworthy. there are to many of them now.

in most apps you can just press the spacebar (pgdown) and shift+spacebar (pgup). Home is cmd+up and End is cmd+down
