This place isn't your home, these people aren't your friends and your executive leadership would run you over with their cars if you stood between them and revenue growth. Your relationship to work changes forever. You will never again believe that you are "critical" to the company or that the company is interested in you as a person.
Every single one of these web3 companies is going bust. They could all be built without tokens or a blockchain if they wanted to. There are only two things propping up the entire crypto economy, VC funding and fraud. Once the VC money leaves the ecosystem the dominoes will fall.
All those things became mainstream in a matter of a few years from the time they became affordable and available to most people.
Crypto currencies have existed for well over a decade now, have been available to anyone who wants in for a long time, but still, all we see them being used for is market speculation. I would've loved to use digital money to buy stuff, but it simply isn't a serious option today in most online shops as far as I can see... even if it was, I currently see zero reason to use that instead of my credit card (which has almost no interest, very low fees, and the guarantee of my bank that fraud will be reverted).
Given that, why the hell people still believe it might eventually take over the world??? It just won't! It's pretty clear IMHO that it is, and will remain for probably a long time, a ponzi scheme of sorts, or to be a bit more generous, a gambling platform.
Well put. In addition, Ethereum is also not the most ideal blockchain in the world. Given more time, I'm sure better options will become available. There's no reason to pile onto a flawed system like that just because it's the only option now. Realistically, we should be still developing out better chains rather than building everything onto Ethereum.
This document is insane. It feels like everyone involved in the production of it is so utterly disconnected from reality.
That first page “Trajectory of innovation” with the pseudograph is an utterly hilarious distillation of the madness yet to come. The deeper I read into the document the worse it got.
Golden ratio, Patterns being found where there were none to begin with (“perimeter oscillations”), Pepsi Energy fields, Pepsi Universe.
This reads like a pamphlet buckling under the excited and emphatic pointing of a disheveled man with a tinfoil hat on saying “SEE, SEE THE TRUTH IS ALL IN HERE!”
What learning can be taken from this? Is it a case of the train of thought being very poorly explained? Or is it a case of self absorbed people surrounded by “yes-men” basking in the glory of their own brilliance?
This has always always been the case. Grow up.
