Formula 1 is one of the worst offenders of Sportswashing, the practice of dictators and human rights abusers to use their money to buy good will in the sports world.

And not just in Russia & Saudi Arabia, F1 is hosted by lot’s of other dictators, human rights abusers countries. Just like FIFA:

(I'm trying to better understand this)

I think it's not so simple because authoritative DNS systems are involved.

So it's not just a BGP error. It's a BGP error which disconnected authoritative DNS for all facebook. I'm not quite sure why that makes it so slow to fix. is it just because internal difficulties due to having no DNS at all?

Some things I miss:

- A webring at the bottom of every website

- Websites having "awards" pages, full of random little picture awards given out by other random websites

- Hand-curated directories of everything imagineable

- When internet ads were just static 468x60 banners placed on individual sites by individual advertisers

- "Guided tours" in AOL chat rooms, where a host guided everyone in a live chat on a split-screen tour of their favorite websites

- MUDs

- Stumbleupon's stumble toolbar

If you've ever bought an emergency hand-crank flashlight you'll see that it takes a tremendous amount of cranking on a pretty big coil to get a decent amount of electricity. On that small crank, you would probably have to crank for hours nonstop to get 20 mins of gameplay.

More importantly, if it turns out that P = NP through a O(n^1,000,000,000,000) algorithm, then you've proven P = NP but no one is breaking much security any time soon.

But even finding a O(n^big_number) (where big_number is a googleplex, or graham's number... or some other absurdity) would be a huge advancement in theoretical computer science.

Too late, no take backs. P now equals NP and we must live with the consequences!
